The mountains are ideal for numerous, original activities that we like to make accessible to all. The pupils of Sainte Croix des Neiges have the chance to tackle a demanding and thrilling environment: the mountains!
The mountains are the real focus of the activities on offer and various excursions are organised depending on the time of year.
Skiing and snowboarding are the most popular mountain sports among pupils during the winter season. In partnership with the ESF (École de Ski Français) in La Chapelle d’Abondance, pupils are supervised by State-registered monitors and organised into small groups (max. 8 people) based on their level.
Free-ride skiing offers skiers the chance to discover the Portes du Soleil resorts off-piste, supervised by a mountain guide, Jean Yves Fredriksen, and a Sainte Croix des Neiges ski patroller/educator, David Coex (max. 8 people).
Freestyle skiing is practised twice a week with two trainers, Pierre Ochs and Vincent André. The sports teacher, Mr. Picquet, holds training sessions twice a week in the autumn (physical preparation and trampoline).
Snowshoe hiking and cross-country skiing are also available in winter.
Middle mountain hiking and outdoor climbing are practised the rest of the year.
